iOS Engineer (SwiftUI)
GoSafety.ai is a voice-first field platform for construction. Crews dictate daily reports, fill safety checklists, and track time from their phone — AI handles the paperwork. We're replacing clipboards and paper forms on real job sites.
We're looking for a part-time iOS engineer to work directly with the founder on shipping our SwiftUI app. This is hands-on product work — you'll own features end to end.
What you'll build
- Offline-first data capture with background sync to a Go + PostgreSQL backend
- Voice-driven form filling with live Deepgram transcription over WebSocket
- GPS-stamped digital signatures for safety checklists
- Construction daily reports, safety inspections, and time tracking flows
- SwiftData persistence layer with conflict resolution
You should have
- Strong SwiftUI experience (not UIKit wrappers — real declarative SwiftUI)
- Experience with SwiftData or Core Data for local persistence
- Comfort with async/await and structured concurrency
- Shipped at least one app to the App Store
- Ability to work ~20 hrs/week with some overlap in US time zones
Nice to have
- Experience with offline-first or sync architectures
- Background in construction, field services, or industrial apps
- WebSocket or real-time streaming experience
- Familiarity with Go backends or REST API design
The stack
- iOS: SwiftUI, SwiftData, async/await, WebSocket (Deepgram STT)
- Server: Go stdlib, PostgreSQL, JWT auth, Cloud Run
- Infra: GCP (Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, GCS, Firebase Auth)
Why this role
- Small team — your code ships to real users on job sites, not a backlog
- Interesting technical problems — offline sync, voice AI, GPS, PDF form filling
- Part-time flexibility — we care about output, not hours logged
