What it is
This workflow groups the contextual evidence and structured field details that construction teams often need beyond a simple checklist answer.
Who uses it
- Foremen documenting site conditions and evidence.
- Safety managers reviewing supporting context.
- Office staff validating labor or checklist details.
Step-by-step workflow
- A field user opens a checklist or related workflow in the iOS app.
- The user captures GPS when needed and can fetch or manually edit address and weather text.
- The user attaches photos or video and can complete employee summary or diagram fields.
- The checklist or related record is submitted and reviewed in the office web app.
Data captured
Photos and video
- Media file path.
- Thumbnail path when available.
- Caption and category.
- MIME type and size.
- GPS metadata when provided.
Weather and location
- GPS latitude and longitude.
- Optional address label.
- Weather summary text.
- Capture timestamp.
Hours worked by worker
The employee_summary field type stores:
- Employee ID.
- Employee name.
- Hours worked.
- Optional classification such as
journeymanorapprentice. - Totals for employee count and hours total.
Markable diagrams
The diagram_markup field type stores:
- Diagram asset ID.
- Structured mark list.
- Pin labels.
- Normalized coordinates for pins and freehand strokes.
Outputs and downstream effects
- Richer checklist records with evidence and labor context.
- Better office review of what happened on site.
- SVG diagram markup that can be rendered later against the selected asset.
Device and platform context
- Capture happens in the iOS app.
- Uploaded SVG diagram assets are managed in the web app.
- Office reviewers see the resulting checklist or record in the web app.
Practical construction examples
- Marking hazard locations on a site plan and attaching progress photos.
- Recording weather and address context for a daily site safety form.
- Listing which workers were on the job and how many hours each person worked.
Limitations and notes
- Diagram markup is currently v1 only. The current tool set is pin and freehand.
- Diagram v1 does not yet include arrows, circles, text callouts, hotspot regions, or version history UI.
- Address and weather lookup usually need network access, but the user can edit both fields manually and submit them as text.
